Amy Scherer | Figurative Painter

Amy Scherer (Huddleston) is a figurative painter who lives in Kenmore, WA, USA. She paints mainly in acrylic in a smaller format (9” x 12”) heavyweight acrylic paper.

Her main focus is on “formalism, which emphasizes compositional elements. Colour, line, shape, texture, and other perceptual aspects are the “subject” rather than content, meaning, or the historical and social context.”

Amy’s bold and simple use of shape and subtle use of colour draws me to her work, and I find her compositions compelling.
