Jenny Saville’s monumental self-portraits and paintings of fleshy women embrace the grotesque, and counter the male gaze that has dominated centuries of art history. 

Amy Scherer (Huddleston) is a figurative painter who lives in Kenmore, WA, USA. Her main focus is on “formalism, which emphasizes compositional elements.

I suppose because my focus is figurative art in a more traditional sense, and because I feel the pull of the demands and expectations of the outside world on my work, one of my favourite sculptural pieces is “Expansion” by Paige Bradley.

Baya Mahieddine was known simply as Baya. Her work until recently was defined by her relationships with the male artists in her life. The truth may well be closer to the fact that she influenced their work considerably.

Heather Hansen is a contemporary performance artist and dancer from New Orleans. Movement and Art. She combines these two arts in a way that the final product incorporates the uniqueness of each.

Moteaa Al Hariri is a Syrian artist. She is also a wife, a devoted mother, a teacher, an accomplished woman in everything she puts her hand to and, until recently, a Syrian refugee.
